Chief Operating Officer
The Chief Operating Officer at United Lutheran Seminary is responsible for the administrative and operational functions of the seminary, including oversight and management of daily operations, strategic planning and the implementation of key institutional initiatives. Functional areas that report to the COO include Communications, Information Technology, Facilities Management and Campus Planning, and Public Safety. Dennis has more than 30 years of experience on the forefront of innovation and change in higher education administration, including positions as the President of Hastings College, Vice President for Advancement at Pitzer College, Vice President for Enrollment Management and Marketing at Franklin & Marshall College, and Vice President for Enrollment Management at Coe College.
In addition to his work as a COO, president and vice president, Dennis has been a higher education consultant, presenter and speaker and has assisted more than 40 colleges, universities and seminaries across the nation, addressing challenges and developing solutions related to enrollment management, marketing, strategic planning, and fundraising.
Dennis received his M.A. from Claremont Graduate University, where he received the Hausam-Fisk Award for excellence in academic studies, scholarly writing, and exceptional service to students and faculty, an M.B.A. from the University of Iowa, a B.A. from Whitworth University and is a member of the 2011 Harvard Graduate School of Education Presidents Seminar.
