Student Services is hosting a free meal for students taking intensive courses on the Gettysburg campus the week of January 22-26. Any students, staff or faculty on campus are also encouraged to attend and bring your family. Join us Tuesday, January 23, at 5:30 pm in the Refectory. The menu will be vegetarian and meat chili, toppings, bread, salad and dessert.
Dr. Karyn Wiseman will be holding a Preaching Orientation Session on the Philadelphia campus for students who plan to take Ministerial Leadership, Spring 2018, but have not taken a Preaching Course yet. The session will be held on:

Dr. Karyn Wiseman will present a half-day Preaching Intensive Session. The session will provide a brief introduction for students who have not yet taken Intro of Preaching or similar course.
This session is strongly encouraged and especially recommended for students currently in a Ministerial Leadership placement.
The session will be held on Monday, Feb 5, 1:00-4:00pm in Valentine 206, United Lutheran Seminary, Gettysburg campus.
Faith, Hope & Love: Building Safer and More Welcoming Congregations for LGBTQ+ Youth
Registration for this event in the New Jersey Synod, opens January 16. Held on March 17, 2018, at Abiding Presence in Ewing, NJ, this gathering of the church will bring together youth, young adults and adults eager to celebrate the rich diversity of God’s people and learn how to make their homes, congregations and communities a safer, more welcoming place for LGBTQ+ children and youth. Since there are no classes being held this week, there will be no chapel services except on Wednesday. At 11:45 AM on Wednesday, there will be a short service of Holy Communion in the chapel, led by Mark Oldenburg.
