From President R. Guy Erwin:
Buff Carlson, who has faithfully served as our Chief Financial Officer, Vice President for Finance and Operations for the past three and one-half years, has announced his retirement from ULS effective early September. Buff came to ULS with extensive experience in financial reporting, treasury and tax operations and internal auditing.
“I felt a real sense of community at ULS, and have enjoyed developing relationships not only with staff and faculty, but with our students, as well as the Gettysburg community,” Buff said. “While I look forward to the next adventure in life, which includes travel, I will miss everyone I’ve come to know and work with.”
Buff, who joined our staff a month before the pandemic, brought financial stability to ULS at a time when there was much uncertainty. His careful oversight of the PPP loan/forgiveness, CARES Act processes and leadership during this challenging time will have a long lasting and positive impact on the seminary’s future financial position. On a more personal note, I have come to know Buff as someone who cares deeply about ULS, its mission and people.
Please join me in wishing Buff the very best in his life beyond ULS. I will continue to update you as we move forward with a search.
