Dr. Vincent Evener, Associate Professor of Reformation and Luther Studies, has been called to a new position at Missouri State University (Springfield, MO) and will depart ULS at the end of this month.
"I have loved teaching at United Lutheran Seminary,” said Dr. Evener. “I am filled with gratitude for the opportunity I had to work with and learn from both faculty colleagues and students. The dedication of ULS's faculty is extraordinary, and ULS's students, with their diverse experiences and gifts, consistently embody the courage and passion needed to proclaim and live out the Gospel in a hurting world. I hope that I have been helpful for the students' learning and formation. Although I have been called to a new role, I will miss the seminary community greatly."
Dr. Evener will serve as Assistant Professor in the Department of Languages, Cultures, and Religions at Missouri State. He joined the faculty of the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg (LTSG) in 2015.
Dr. R. Guy Erwin, ULS’s president, says “I am very grateful for Dr. Evener’s contributions to the life and work of LTSG/ULS, but even beyond that, for his contributions to the field of Reformation studies. In a way, those of us who labor in that vineyard are colleagues, wherever we live and teach, and I know that though we lose him as a member of the ULS faculty, we still have in Dr. Evener a lifelong friend and co-worker in the Gospel.”
