The Certificate Program in Church Leadership is a program within The Urban Theological Institute (UTI) of United Lutheran Seminary.  This certificate program is offered in-person at Salt & Light Church on Monday evenings. Classes are offered to clergy and church leaders that will equip them in Bible study, church history, pastoral care, church administration, homiletics, and worship.  The UTI is dedicated to providing theological education to church leaders that is relevant and upbuilding for the Christian community. 

About this program
The program consists of 8 classes over two academic years:

Servant Leadership and Church Administration   (NT)The Gospels
History & Beliefs of the Church                               (NT) The Epistles

(OT) Historical Books                                              Pastoral Care & Managing Church Conflict
(OT) The Prophets                                                   Preaching & Worship

Participants who complete the full two-year (two courses each semester) program will receive a Certificate in Church Leadership. Entrance starts through a cohort with the first cohort starting in Spring 2024. Classes are held in-person and applicants must start at the beginning of the cohort.

Schedule and Fees
Each class meets 3 hours, once a week for 12 weeks on Monday evenings. The fee per course is $250 plus the cost of textbooks. Class for the spring semester begin in February, and in September for the fall semester.
